Yesterday was pretty darn awesome. The beginning was just a normal work day but I had two big things at night which rocked. I saw the Glee Live 3D preview at Arclight Hollywood with a bunch of Gleeks and then my best friend, Lauren, and I went to see our friends in a band perform.
I really enjoyed Glee Live 3D. It was super fun and I liked how they cut in a bunch of fan stuff with the performances. The cast is amazing and everyday I wish I could be friends with every last one of them. They are all obnoxiously talented and hilarious and sweet and cute and just perfect. It was funny because they all stayed in their Glee characters the whole movie. They said some pretty obnoxious things as their characters. I hope people realize that they were acting and joking around. If you knew that, it was hilarious. If you didn't, then it seemed like a bunch of ungrateful, self-obsessed brats.
Highlights:
(**spoiler alert**)
-Heather Morris. OH MAH GAWD. She is so freaking hot. Her boobs/body in "Slave 4 U" were amazing in 3D and on a huge screen. I don't think there is much that can beat the sexiness of that number.
-Everything Darren Criss says or does. He's perfection.
-Tying in the Mini Warbler. That kid is so famous now. It's funny.
-ACHELE HAND HOLD. (You have to be a hardcore Gleek to even understand what I just said...)
-Lea Michele in character backstage was so funny. "I always knew Barbra would come." And of course, "Don't Rain On My Parade" is a godsend.
-PHOEBE! One of my close friends, Phoebe, was IN IT! She was one of the fans who was interviewed. IT WAS CRAZY BALLS to see her face on the Arclight screen in front of me.
-Gwenyth Paltrow showing up. I just love her.
-I like how they mixed up the set list. It gave it a new excitement and it will freshen it up the hard hard hardcore Glee fans who know the tour show backwards and forwards.
There's so much more, but I just suggest you all go see it for its limited engagement starting tomorrow. **Spoilers are over**
Fox sent us a little package with our special VIP preview ticket. There's a baseball hat, a drawstring bag, a rubber bracelet, a lanyard with a huge VIP ticket attached, a Glee lapel pin, and special 3D glasses.
Here's a close-up of the adorable 3D glasses.
After that, I went home, changed, and headed over to Lauren's house. (She can drive past 11, plus carpooling is nice to the environment. We also had a sleepover after.)
The band is called Northern Strangers and it consists of Rebecca and Dan (who taught us at YADA and now we work alongside them), Will (Rebecca's brother), Lee (who played drums for Les Miz all the sessions), and Chris. They all rock super hard. Oh and they all the best facial hair ever. Besides Rebecca of course...
(L-R) Chris, Rebecca, Lee, Will, Dan. Yup. They're super cool.
Our friend Phoenix was there and so were Adam and Val, our other super close friends. Val was adorable and super over-protective. It was sweet. When we came in, he was like "They're with us and they are under 21!!" It was funny. And then they gave us super duper big heavy-duty sharpie x's on the back of our hands. (See below) We had so much fun and I am so glad the bar let us come. I was literally the youngest person in the whole room. It was funny.
Val and I got up and danced and eventually convinced Lauren and Phoenix and Adam to come with us. I completely let go and it was super nice. I am not a very good dancer, but I just feel the music and move my arms and things. It probably looks weird, but hey! I am having fun, so who cares, right?
They are all super talented musicians and they played some awesome music. I am probably one of their biggest groupies. Haha. I even have a pin, frisbee, and mini-tambourine to prove it!
We're minors.
It was hilarious. Val and I named all the band members with Harry Potter names. Rebecca is Rebetrix Lestrange. Dan is Sirian Blaul. Will is Wubeus Wagrid. Lee is Leena Lovegood. Chris is Chrisric Diggory. Hehehe. We had fun! Check out some of their music here.
Even though I didn't get much sleep last night, it was entirely worth it. Can't wait for their next all-ages concert!
